Managed website hosting and support

You don’t need to understand hosting.

We keep your website online, secure, backed up and maintained.

Website hosting can be technical, but choosing the right package shouldn’t be complicated. Our managed hosting packages cover the essentials your website needs to stay online, protected and up to date.

If you also need help keeping your website content updated, our Business packages include monthly web support time for simple text, image and content changes.

We also offer optional add-ons, including Google Workspace email and Local Listings Management, so your hosting package can grow with your business.

Features shown in grey with a line through are not included in that package.

Which package should I choose?

Choose thisIf you…
StartupNeed reliable hosting for a simple website that rarely changes
BusinessNeed occasional small updates without paying separately each time
Business+Regularly need website changes, support or advice

*Maintenance and support times incorporate time taken to check and update themes and plugins so time available for changes will be less than shown. Time is not rolled over each month. Additional support or support without a package in place is charged at £80 per hour + VAT.

**This applies to "standard" domains such as .co.uk or .uk and doesn't apply to more expensive .com addresses.

Hosting Add-ons

Upgrade to Google Workspace email

See pricing table below

All hosting packages include standard website email mailboxes, which are suitable for basic business email use.

For businesses that prefer Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive and better syncing across devices, we can also set up Google Workspace.

Google Workspace is charged per user, using Google’s standard public pricing. Setup and migration can be quoted separately depending on what’s required.

Local Listings Management

£20/month + VAT

Improve your visibility on local Google searches by keeping your business details consistent across key online directories, maps and local search platforms.

This is useful for businesses that rely on local visibility, such as trades, clinics, gyms, shops, venues and local service providers.

Common hosting questions

How do I know which package to choose?

If you have a simple website that does not change very often, the Startup package is usually enough.

If you need occasional help with updates, such as text changes, image swaps or small content edits, the Business package is a better fit.

If you regularly need website changes, advice or support, Business+ offers the best value because it includes more support time each month.

If you’re not sure, just get in touch and we can recommend the most suitable option.

What’s included in the monthly hosting price?

Your monthly hosting fee covers the hosting of your website, uptime monitoring, backups, SSL, WordPress updates, performance optimisation and support for hosting-related issues.

Some packages also include monthly web support time, which can be used for small website updates and maintenance tasks.

If your website goes down or there is a hosting-related issue, we’ll be alerted and will investigate it for you.

What does your email setup service include?

All hosting packages include standard website email mailboxes. We provide setup instructions so you can add these to your email app yourself.

If you would prefer us to set this up for you, we can remotely connect to your computer and configure the account in your preferred email app, such as Apple Mail or Outlook.

Email setup is included on our Business and Business+ packages for one device. On the Startup package, email setup is charged at £50 per device.

Google Workspace setup and email migration are quoted separately, as the work required can vary depending on your current email setup.

Why does managed hosting cost more than cheap website hosting?

Cheap hosting can be fine for very simple websites, but it often leaves more responsibility with you. If something goes wrong, you may need to contact the hosting company yourself, restore backups, manage updates or investigate technical issues.

Our managed hosting packages are designed to give you a more hands-off service. We monitor your website, manage backups, keep WordPress updated and help resolve hosting-related issues if they arise.

For business-critical websites, one of our Business packages is usually the safer choice because it includes additional maintenance and support time.

Do you offer custom packages?

Yes. If your website needs something more specific, we can create a custom hosting package.

This might include additional storage, extra email mailboxes, advanced security, a Web Application Firewall, CDN setup, advanced DDoS protection or a higher level of monthly support.

What is the difference between standard website email and Google Workspace?

Standard website email is included with your hosting package and is suitable for basic business email use.

Google Workspace is a paid upgrade that gives you Gmail for your business email, along with Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Meet and other Google tools.

If you already like using Gmail, need better syncing across devices, or want cloud storage and collaboration tools for your business, Google Workspace is usually the better option.

Google’s current UK pricing shows Business Starter from £7 per user/month, with 30GB pooled storage per user, and Business Standard from £14 per user/month, with 2TB pooled storage per user.

Do I need Google Workspace?

Not always. If you only need a basic email address for your website, the standard email included with your hosting package may be enough.

Google Workspace is a better choice if you want to use Gmail with your business email address, access email reliably across multiple devices, use Google Calendar and Drive, or give several team members professional email accounts.

It is especially useful for businesses that already rely on Google tools day to day.

Is Google Workspace included in the hosting price?

No. Standard website email is included with your hosting package, but Google Workspace is a separate paid service charged per user.

We can help set it up for you, but the monthly licence cost follows Google’s standard public pricing. Setup or migration work can be quoted separately depending on what is needed.

Can you move my existing emails to Google Workspace?

In most cases, yes. We can help migrate existing email accounts to Google Workspace, but the amount of work depends on your current email setup, how many mailboxes you have and how much historic email needs to be transferred.

Because of this, email migration is quoted separately.

What is Local Listings Management?

Local Listings Management helps keep your business details consistent across key online directories, maps and local search platforms.

This usually includes details such as your business name, address, phone number, website and other core business information.

It is useful for local businesses that want to improve their visibility in local searches and reduce the risk of incorrect or outdated business details appearing online.

Is Local Listings Management the same as SEO?

No. Local Listings Management is not a full SEO campaign.

It helps with local visibility by keeping your business information consistent across online listings and directories. However, it does not include ongoing SEO work such as keyword research, blog writing, content strategy, technical SEO audits or link building.

If you need a broader SEO strategy, we can discuss that separately.

Do I need Local Listings Management?

It can be useful if your business serves a local area or relies on people finding you through Google Maps or local search.

Examples include trades, gyms, clinics, shops, venues, restaurants, professional services and other local businesses.

If your business is not location-based, or you do not rely on local search enquiries, you may not need it.

An example of where local listings management has been succesful can be seen on our Olga Bartlett project.

Can I add Google Workspace or Local Listings Management later?

Yes. You do not need to choose everything straight away.

You can start with a hosting package and add Google Workspace, Local Listings Management or extra support later if your needs change.

However, for brand new domains it is recommended to add Google Workspace at the start rather than swap email providers at a later date.

What can I use my monthly web support time for?

Monthly web support time can be used for small website updates, such as text changes, image swaps, minor content edits, plugin checks, theme updates and general website maintenance.

It is not intended for larger design changes, new page layouts, major development work, SEO campaigns or copywriting projects. If you need something more substantial, we can quote for that separately.

Does unused support time roll over?

No. Monthly support time does not roll over.

The included time is there to help keep your website maintained and to cover small updates during that month. Additional support is charged separately at our standard hourly rate.
